Spring 2008
(for teens and adults)
Ballet
This class will focus on the basic fundamentals of ballet technique. It will begin with ballet barre, proceed to center floor work, and end with combinations across the floor. We will thoroughly explore basic ballet exercises, focusing on quality and understanding of technique. Dancers of any level can benefit from this class.
Modern
This class will be based on Limόn technique by exploring the possibilities of suspension and falling in relation to gravity. Students will focus on finding and maintaining a strong grounded center, and achieving freedom in the limbs with the strength of the center and back. Each class will begin with floor exercises, then standing exercises, then movements across the floor, and finally end with improvisational tasks.
