Relay

A fast paced and energetic ensemble work that is propelled by Joel Chadabe’s computer generated score. Teams of dancers multiply and divide like a math game into pairs and trios.  Joel was one of my very first collaborators. I credit him with creating the fire in me to consistently work with other artists. His music for this work captivated me with its layering and energy. I was inspired by its wonderfully playful and clever rhythmicality and felt that capturing the essence of a relay race (while abstract) was a fitting complement to the dynamic of his composition.
